We don't make beauty products. We choose them.

There are more skincare products in the world than anyone could ever need. Most of them are fine. A few are genuinely good. Telling the difference takes time that most people don't have.

That's the whole job we set for ourselves.

How we choose

We start with far more products than we end up selling. Then we cut.

• It has to do one thing well. We're suspicious of anything that claims to fix eight problems at once.
• The ingredient list has to make sense. If we can't explain why something is in there, it doesn't make the shelf.
• It has to be worth the price. Not cheap. Worth it. Those are different things.
• We have to want to keep using it. This one is unscientific and it eliminates more products than the other three combined.

Most things don't make it through. That's the point.

Fewer, better

A bathroom shelf with five products you actually reach for beats one with twenty you bought once and forgot. We'd rather sell you the five.

It's a slower way to build a shop. We think it's the only one worth doing.
